Glossary

The words this dashboard uses, and what each one means.

  • Product: the family, such as “Coffee Subscription”. A product holds plans.
  • Plan: a tier inside a product, such as “Basic” or “Premium”. A plan holds prices.
  • Price: a billing option on a plan, such as monthly or yearly. The checkout link belongs to the price, not the plan.
  • Subscription: one customer on one price, with a state and a next renewal date.
  • Add-on: something a customer buys on top of their subscription, either recurring or one-time.
  • Feature set: the rows of the comparison table your customers see.
  • Promotion: a discount you apply, or a code your customer enters.
  • Dunning: the retry schedule that runs when a payment fails, and what is sent at each step.
  • Renewal reminder: a message sent before a renewal, so the charge is not a surprise.
  • Setup fee: a one-time amount charged with the first payment.
  • Delivery schedule: how often you deliver, when that differs from how often you bill. A monthly price can deliver weekly, four times.
